  Overview... Founded just before the Pseudo Wars, Safe Space consists of just one star system but what it lacks in size it has made up for in influence and fame. Safe Space was a special colony created by a mamalian-humanoid species called Kindred, also known as Vampires. Misunderstood, hunted and persecuted, most of the Kindred fled the core worlds and founded a nation they could call their own: Safe Space. Their capital world, Safehouse, orbits an Orange Dwarf star. Safehouse's cloudy atmosphere shrouds the planet in perpetual levels of twilight making it a perfect place for Kindred and other UV sensitive species. Safe Space quickly gained a reputation for being a refuge for not only Kindred but also other misunderstood species, such as the Yanaglanche, sometimes called Warewolves. The allies in the Outworld Confederacy, bowing to the pressures of religious leaders, attempted to destroy Safe Space shortly before the Monkey Wars, but Safe Space's founder and Governor, Jessica "Jazzy Lady" Lass, and Representitive Paul "Pool" Shark managed to thwart the invasion and negotiated a peace accord. In exchange, Safe Space would join the Outworld Confederacy. Today, Safe Space remains a refuge for downtrodden, homeless and misunderstood beings across the Outworld Galaxy. Economy... Safe Space economics can seem somewhat chaotic to visitors as it opperates under two systems: Captialism and Socialism. Though this combination seems contradictory, the people of Safe Space have managed to make it work.   |
